The sister city signing ceremony between Tehran and Yerevan was held at the Milad Tower Conference Center in Tehran, Iran on Wednesday.

Tehran Mayor Alireza Zakani and his Armenian counterpart Hrachya Sargsyan declared the two cities as sisters.

During the ceremony, Zakani said that one of the definitive policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran is to establish communication, cooperation, and good neighborliness with its neighboring states, especially Armenia.

Sargsyan, for his part, said that the two countries share a historical path, and given this issue, there are good capacities for cooperation between the two sides.
