“The price cap is a guarantee that customers can navigate until the end of October because there are so many prices that have gone up due to inflation,” Per Bank, the CEO of Salling Group, told TV2.

Since 1964, the marriage rate in the EU has declined from 8.0 per 1 000 people in 1964 to 3.2 in 2020. At the same time, the divorce rate has doubled, increasing from 0.8 per 1 000 people in 1964 to 1.6 in 2020. Highest number of marriages in Hungary, Latvia and Lithuania

The EU Member States with the highest number of marriages relative to the population were Hungary (6.9 marriages per 1 000 people), Latvia (5.6) and Lithuania (5.5). In contrast, the lowest marriage rates were around 2 marriages per 1 000 inhabitants, which were reported in Italy (1.6), Portugal (1.8), Spain and Ireland (both 1.9).

“Inflation is high, but such a term – ‘galloping inflation’, in the economy does not exist”, commented to the Bulgarian media "Dnevnik" Lubomir Datsov, former Deputy Minister of Finance. Gebran Bassil, the head of the Christian-led Free Patriotic Movement, has hit out at what he said was a US and Israeli conspiracy in the Lebanese parliamentary election.

He made his claim as it appeared his party was set to lose seats in the election, including his own.

Mr Bassil, considered a parliamentary ally of Hezbollah and the incumbent MP for Batroun, said his party was not in a battle with Lebanese parties.

Israel’s peace camp is mourning Uri Savir, who passed away on Friday at the age of 69. Best known in Israel for the central role he played in negotiating the Oslo Accords, Savir continued in the post-Oslo years to promote peace and coexistence in different forums.

The son of one of Israel’s first diplomats, Savir joined the Foreign Ministry shortly after completing his studies at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. In the early 1980s, he began his role as a senior associate of then-Foreign Minister Shimon Peres, engaging in contacts between Peres and several Arab leaders.

In 1993, Peres appointed Savir director general of the Foreign Ministry. It was in that role that Savir served as Israel’s chief negotiator vis-à-vis the Palestinians during the Oslo process, setting out to achieve a final status peace agreement with the PLO.
