Poles celebrate 96th anniversary of national anthem – “Dąbrowski’s Mazurka”

“Dąbrowski’s Mazurka”, a popular patriotic song composed by Józef Wybicki was adopted as Poland’s national anthem 96 years ago.

Since 26 February 1927, Dąbrowski’s Mazurka, a song of Polish Legions fighting under Napoleon Bonaparte in late 18th century, has been the official anthem of Poland. It was written by Józef Wibicki during his visit to Italy. Its name is a tribute to polish general, creator of Polish Legions in Italy.

Every “brave new world” consists of constraining freedoms, soon followed by a transformation of meanings, values, principles, the hierarchy of prestige, a questioning of traditions and customs, and social engineering. The world must be turned upside down.

The old history is to be trashed and traditional modes of social organization are to be expunged. The individual is to feel powerless and swept along with the inevitable change taking place.

According to a Leger poll commissioned for the Fraser Institute, 42% of all Canadians support socialism as their preferred economic system. The number rises to 50% among Canadians aged 18-24, and it drops to 38% support among Canadians over 55.

More than four in ten young Canadians believe Canada should embrace socialism as its ideal economic system, though few want to pay more taxes to fund loftier spending.

A Fraser Institute report released Wednesday found that Canadians aged 18-to-34 had a more favourable impression of socialism (46%) than capitalism (39%), communism (13%), and fascism (8%).

Inactivity and a lack of exercise are having an adverse effect on the health of Europeans at a time when healthcare costs are soaring, according to a recent report by the World Health Organisation (WHO).

Regular physical activity is one of the most important things people can do to improve both their physical and mental health, however, the percentage of adults that do insufficient physical activity remains high in the European Union. Only a quarter of adults over the age of 55 play sports or exercise at least once a week.

More than one in three adults do not meet physical activity guidelines — the WHO recommends 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity per week — while almost half of the adults in the EU (45%) report that they never exercise or play sport. And this while healthcare costs are reaching over 15% of the EU’s total expenditure.

The West is making a huge mistake in feeding Ukraine with weapons, Argentinian left-wing activist Adolfo Pérez Esquivel has told the Die Welt newspaper in an interview.

Speaking from his studio in Buenos Aires, the Nobel Peace Prize winner called the ongoing conflict in Ukraine a proxy war between the United States, NATO, and the West on one side and Russia and China on the other.

“The Ukrainian people are only the victims,” Perez Esquivel told the German newspaper.

Esquivel sees the Ukrainian president as the main culprit for the ongoing armed conflict: “Sending tanks to support a Nazi friend like Zelensky is dangerous. You are feeding a monster.” In the Argentine’s view, Zelensky is not defending his homeland, but rather sacrificing his own people to the interests of NATO and the United States.
